Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Magic
and Those Who Use It
---
So, it's time for another RTD! This one is fantasy, because it's what I'm good at.and Those Who Use It
---
The essential bit is that everyone's character is a magician, they were born with the gift of a special energy in their blood.
Since we don't get to choose what we're born as, you get to leave what type of magic you get up to you.
SO BASICALLY:
If you want to join, roll a number out of three, and post it, then once everyone is done with that I'll tell you what they mean!
Use [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for rolling.

a. Geomancy/Necromancy - The earth speaks to your blood, allowing you to shift it at will. You can change stone to sand, and metal to crystal. The bones of the dead also call for you, allowing you to raise skeletons from their graves. Sadly you are impaired by blindness from birth. [+1 Geomancy, Cannot See]
b. Pyromancy - Do not mistake this for the ability to create fire from thin air. Your blood burns with unnatural heat, allowing you to control and increase heat, but you need a wooden staff to channel any significant amount of fire. [+1 Pyromancy, -1 All Senses]
c. Battlemagic - A strange type of magic that controls the forces of kinetic action and gravity, allowing you to greatly increase the force of blows, or levitate enemies. Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Aight buttsluts, so here we go.
Somehow you all end up in the same city, Odengaard, a moderate sized town in hidden in the northern taiga. A dense fog covers the valley in the early morning and the townsfolk start to leave their homes. At any rate, there are three shops open, the smithy, the tavern, the brothel, and the brewery.
Havel, you are a wanderer, seeking out bounties and using your magic to hunt down your quarry.
ROLLS FOR SHIT:
Gypsy, your caravan has settled here to resupply.
ROLLS FOR SHIT:
Valia you are a wanderer as well, but your goals are only known to yourself.
ROLLS FOR SHIT:
WHAT DO YOU DO?

ROLLS FOR SHIT:
- Spoiler:
- ARMOR: 3/10 - You wear a standard magician robe. You wear tattered boots and worn gloves, not the kind of protection you want for your kind of magic.
WEAPONRY: 7/10 - A standard military-grade iron flail is mounted on your hip. Across your back is an iron quarterstaff, with a lead weight on one end and a small blade on the other.
WEALTH: 6/10 - 6 Silvers

ROLLS FOR SHIT:
- Spoiler:
- ARMOR: 3/10 - You wear a shabby cloth tunic, some baggy flax-fiber pants with holes torn in them, and a faded purple bandanna with some faint stars in the cloth.
WEAPONRY: 1/10 - You have 2 Jokers from different decks and they have no magical properties and have holes, tears and a strange white stain on one of them.
WEALTH: 6/10 - 6 Silver
Valia you are a wanderer as well, but your goals are only known to yourself.
ROLLS FOR SHIT:
- Spoiler:
- ARMOR: 3/10 - A shabby cloak with a hood that can cover your eyes. Under it you wear a ratty linen shirt, and a knee length work cloth skirt/kilt. On your feet are worn and holed animal skin boots.
WEAPONRY: 8/10 - A sharp, light, Damascus steel scimitar rests in a curved sheath at your hip. Opposite of it is an old chain whip made of wrought iron that you are somewhat capable with.

Go use my silvers to buy some lightweight leather armor, and possibly a steel pauldron. Look for bounties in the town while you're at it.

Feed on those more mortal than myself, take their worldly possessions as my own.
Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Havel: 9/10 - The kindly blacksmith regales you of how he was once a bounty hunter like you, and tearfully gives you his old armor set, black steel plates, you fit them to your robe, an elaborate pauldron and manica set, two padded gauntlets, and a fancy helmet with and eagle design on the visor and a red feather crest. WHAT A STEAL!
(-2 Recoil Damage, -5 Physical Damage Taken)
Gypsy: 8/10 - A caravan merchant sells you a deck of fine tarot cards (Standard Card Set/Standard Spells +1) for only 25 coppers. (Leaving you with 5 silver and 75 coppers)
Valia: 11/10 (10, +1 Dark Magic) - You see several paladins, unguarded and unarmed. You feel a surge of power as you rend all of their souls into darkness. Your corrupted arm pulses with power, occasionally sparking with black electricity. As you touch their armor it corrupts into a more demonic appearance. You now have a Corrupted Paladin Armor Set, Including wrought iron chain shirt, wrought iron chain skirt, bat wing helmet, black steel gauntlets, black steel greaves, and a black steel breastplate with a demonic inscription on the metal. (-4 Holy Damage Taken, +4 Dark Magic Damage, -2 Physical Damage Taken)

Search for someone to enscript my armor with anti-magic enchantments. Afterwards, look for a bounty on a mage.

Havel: 3/10 - You fail to find any artificers, as there are none in town. No luck on mage bounties either. There's only one.
Gypsy: 5/10 (3+1+1) - You know that 'read the future' stuff isn't even magic, nor is it in any way reliable. You can do much cooler shit with these cards.
Valia: 10/10 - Congratulations, a gigantic paladin with an enchanted hammer, and runic armor comes looking for his friends, only to find their soulless, drained corpses, and you. Oh and he's accompanied by several other powerful clerics. Yay.

Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Laugh as intimidatingly as possible and ready my scimitar and chain. Power up with dark energies and prepare for a fight.
Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Pull out the HAWK tarot card and attempt to get a good HAWK EYE view of the paladins standing over that guy with leprosy on his arm
Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Frown and leave the town in search of another town that may have artificers and/or mage bounties.

Valia: 3/10 (2+1) You dont really feel like being an intimidating deathlord today, but you kind of sneer a bit.
Paladin Titan: DESTRUCTOIRE LE INFEDELE! 5/10 - He swings his hammer, damaging you for [5 x 2 - 4 + 2 = 8] damage, leaving you with 32/40 health.
Gypsy: 4/10 (7+1-4): Thats not even a tarot card, so you cant draw it from a tarot deck. You do, however, draw THE JUDGEMENT, which with your divination, lets you observe as a half-demon gets clobbered by a Vitoneaxan Paladin.
Havel: 1/10: You somehow fail at this incredibly mundane task, smile, and run all the way to the top of the castle (the farthest point fron any exit in town) at alarming speed.

Re: Magic and Those Who Use It 1.0
Valia: 11/10 (10+1) You quite eloquently to back the fuck up and when he doesnt, you promptly pull his feet out from under him with your chain whip, for [20-4=16] damage, then unleash the dark energy in your arm, grab him head, and destroy his body for [80+4-2=82] damage. Exploding most of him. Then you eat his soul. You get a little more demonic as a result.
Havel: 5/10 You find an old dude. He has a beard. He may or may not be a magician.
Gypsy: 9/10 (7+1+1) The TOWER is drawn, but the Paladin Titan is mostly exploded. HOWEVER, the two Priests accompanying him are readying wards. With the appearance of the TOWER, you reverse their magic to backfire, increasing the power of magic. The tower then appears again, MAKING THEM REALIZE THE TRUTH. They now follow the will of the cards.
